TRAVEL

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE UNITED STATES

Visa requirements may be subject to change, so please do check on the relevant website well before your travel date.

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/usa/entry-requirements

Your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay; however, you do not need any additional period of validity on your passport beyond this.

Most British-citizen passport holders can enter the U.S. for up to 90 days under the Visa Waiver Program (WVP).

All those traveling under the Visa Waiver Program arriving by air or sea should provide details online at least 72 hours before travel. This is known as an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation, or ESTA. If you don’t have an ESTA, you’ll be refused travel to the U.S. For more information, and to apply online, visit the official ESTA website.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend GTNF participants purchase insurance that covers medical and other risks associated with travel abroad. Tobacco Reporter will not be liable for any issues stemming from a delegate’s participation in any GTNF event or function.

Several major carriers fly in to Lewisburg Airport. United Airlines offers nonstop flights from Washington D.C., (Dulles International Airport (IAD)). The Greenbrier recommends you use your preferred travel search engine (Expedia, Travelocity, Kayak, etc.) to plan and book your flights.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND SECURITY

Remember to charge your laptop and all other electronic devices before you board a flight into the United States. As part of a new security protocol at foreign airports, the United States Transportation Security Administration will require cell phones and select electronic devices to be fully charged with the ability to be powered on when going through security screening. The TSA says that devices that won’t power on will not be allowed on flights headed to the U.S.
